Message from Chamber President Bill Tavernise

Chamber President - Bill TaverniseI would like to thank everyone for their support and confidence in me that I can carry forward the Chamber ideals and achievements as set by our past presidents.

What do I hope to achieve and enhance during my tenure?

Membership? We have so many quality members that other people need to get to know, and by members bringing guests to our luncheons, our membership roles will grow as your Chamber has a great track record of having guests join the Chamber. We need to stress the importance of attending these events, networking your business and partnering up with fellow chamber businesses to grow the community. We provide you with an inviting, friendly atmosphere to meet and network your business with other people who are in your shoes also. This is the time that we can help each other out and build our core business within the community. All you have to do is get involved. I often hear that "I just don't have time to attend the functions." What you are really saying is that you don't have time to build your business at a time when everyone needs the boost. Our Luncheons take 2 hours out of your day to get valuable information on our area, have a great lunch and possibly meet a new contact. It is a win, win situation for all. Our mixers are an excellent place to make new contacts. Every contact is a good one. They are fun, entertaining and again take about two hours of your time to attend. We have been averaging at least 100 people at these events. That is 100 contacts you did not have to go out and find!

Continue on in our excellent quality of speakers and events we have had over the last year. Our recent Kick off to the Equestrian Season and Meet the Candidate forums were very well attended and it was very heartwarming to hear comments from the members how much they enjoyed these community based informative forums. In conjunction with our expert panels on each of our sub-committees, it is my commitment to you to continue to provide education, innovative and informative seminars, workshops and forums.

The Chamber will continue to work closely with local government on issues important to you, the business leaders of this community. My door is open! If you have an issue you would like to see addressed, please do not hesitate to contact me and let's discuss how we can work together!

In closing let me tell you why our Chamber is so important to me. The answer is apparent. We have the finest members of any Chamber in the area. To be able to call many of you close friends and business associates is truly an honor to me. To be able to serve with Michela as our Executive Director and with the Board we have just elected, is an honor and a privilege and I look forward to meeting each of you in person and working to make your business a success now and in the future
