FOCUS AND MISSION
The Medical and Wellness Committee develops programs to encourage health and wellness awareness to the community of Wellington.
This committee acts as a resource for Chamber members regarding health, wellness, spiritual, and safety issues as it pertains to quality of life matters in Wellington. Health and Wellness committee members plan, execute and host the Chamber’s Annual Health and Wellness festival; sponsors scholarships to students entering health related educational programs in Wellington and work on numerous heath care projects and luncheons. The Health and Wellness Committee's goal is to inform and educate the community while promoting the health and wellness professionals who are members of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce.
Part of our monthly meetings will incorporate a time to "Meet Your Doctor" where we have a local physician visit and allow members to meet them, ask questions, and learn about their practice.
AED Project – Monthly classes for professionals and community members to increase awareness and knowledge of CPR, First Aid and AED techniques The committee will also strive to increase membership in the Chamber through interaction with medical and health care community. Look for updates on this committee in the upcoming weeks!!!
GOALS
- To offer our speakers to come to their business to lecture on a
particular topic. Address particular topics on our website for education or
personal interest of the business owner.
- Practice building through networking with other professionals and
receiving the opportunity to serve on the speakers’ bureau to introduce
their favorite topics to the families of Wellington.
